1. Introduction

Welcome to Keep'ping ("Company", "we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.

We built Keep'ping with a "privacy-by-design" philosophy. Because we are a daily safety check-in service, we intentionally avoid collecting Personally Identifiable Information (PII) about our primary users wherever possible.

2. Information We Collect (And What We Don't)

We practice strict data minimization. We only collect the data absolutely necessary to provide our Service.

A. Data We DO NOT Collect

• No Account Information: We do not require you to create a traditional account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or password.
• No Location Tracking: We do not request GPS permissions. We do not track, collect, or share your physical location.
• No Contact Book Scraping: We do not ask for permission to read your device's contacts or address book.

B. Data We DO Collect

• Anonymous Device Identifiers: When you launch the App, Firebase creates a random, anonymous Unique Identifier (UID) tied to your app installation. This allows our servers to track your 24-hour check-in timer without knowing who you are.
• Safety Circle Data: If you choose to invite people to your "Safety Circle", you manually generate an Invite Code. When those individuals join, the contact information you or they manually input (such as a display name or email for alerts) is securely stored and linked to your anonymous UID.
• App Usage & Diagnostic Data: We automatically collect anonymous diagnostic data, such as crash logs, app version, operating system version, and general interaction events (e.g., when a check-in button is pressed). This is used strictly for debugging and maintaining service reliability.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information we collect exclusively to:

• Operate the core check-in timer and alert functionality.
• Transmit automated push notifications or emails to your designated Safety Circle if your timer expires.
• Process subscription statuses and unlock Premium features.
• Identify and fix app crashes or server errors.
• Prevent fraudulent activity or abuse of our infrastructure.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We share anonymous identifiers and Safety Circle routing data only with trusted third-party sub-processors who provide the infrastructure required to run the App:

• Google Firebase: Hosts our secure database (Firestore), manages anonymous authentication (Firebase Auth), executes backend timer logic (Cloud Functions), and delivers device push notifications (Cloud Messaging).
• Superwall & RevenueCat: Manages your subscription status, paywalls, and communicates with Apple/Google to verify your Premium tier. They do not share your payment details (credit card numbers) with us.
• Google Crashlytics / Analytics: Collects anonymous crash reports and aggregate usage metrics.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your anonymous UID and Safety Circle data only for as long as you actively use the App.

Immediate Deletion: You can delete all your data at any time. By navigating to the App settings and selecting "Clear Data" (or deleting your account profile), your anonymous UID, check-in history, and Safety Circle relationships are immediately and permanently purged from our active databases.

6. Security of Your Data

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your data. All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS/SSL. Data stored in our database is encrypted at rest. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that we have collected data from children under age 13, please contact us so we can immediately delete that data.

8. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR, CCPA, CPRA)

Depending on your region (such as the European Economic Area, UK, California, or Virginia), you have specific rights regarding your personal data:

• Right to Access & Portability: You may request to see the data associated with your anonymous UID.
• Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You may exercise this right instantly via the in-app deletion tools.
• Right to Rectification: You may correct your Safety Circle's contact details within the app at any time.
• Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell data, so this right is inherently respected.

Legal Basis for EU Users (GDPR): We process data under the basis of Contractual Necessity (to provide the service you downloaded the app for) and Legitimate Interest (for app security and stability).

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last Updated" date and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy frequently to be informed of how we are protecting your information.
